As part of the University of Texas System, UT Health Houston holds an Annual Copyright License from the Copyright Clearance Center (CCC).

This license enables affiliates of UT Health Houston to reproduce and distribute copyrighted content, in both print and digital form, across campus with confidence that sharing is being done in compliance with copyright laws and UT Health Houston guidelines.

As a good rule of thumb, we recommend keeping all content behind password protected pages, such as course management programs like Canvas, or on other intranet/internal email systems to stay compliant with the license.

Keep in mind that the Copyright Clearance License only covers content that is shared among university affiliates. Coverage does not include content being used in publications or off-campus presentations.

RightFind Academic is a site that allows you to check to see if resources are covered by the Annual Copyright License. You can access their website here. You can also review the attached document about the CCC's Annual License Verification process.
