Q. Do we have a database of images that I can use in a visual abstract that I do not have to worry about copyright infringement for?
We have a few open access resources listed under images in our database list, although the free to use resources are mixed in with ones that would require licensing fees. Be sure to read the copyright/licensing information for each database. https://libguides.library.tmc.edu/az/databases?t=34337
- https://medpix.nlm.nih.gov/home is one with medical images.
- https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/ from the NIH is good for drug structures. And the NIH has several collections of images that are free to use: https://www.nih.gov/news-events/digital-media-kits .
- There are quite a few options for simple icons that are free to use at thenounproject.com and at healthicons.org/
- PowerPoint is also good for icons, and with a Microsoft license, those images are ok to use.
