TMC Library subscription licenses prohibit data mining/scraping from their publisher platforms due to copyright and their content licensing agreements. Publishers use technical barriers to control access to their content and prevent scraping. If users attempt to defeat publisher barriers, it can result in the entire TMC Library community being restricted from that platform. We do not currently subscribe to (as in, pay for) any API access to publisher platforms. Additionally, when bulk-download is available from within a platform, it is usually citation data, not full-text.
If you choose to register for an API or API key at a publisher site, please contact the publisher directly for assistance. Be sure you understand rules for permitted uses and data storage. Many publishers require users to share any data that is downloaded and stored.
Text mining and API access is not always necessary to download large numbers of citations for research or systematic reviews. Please contact your liaison librarian for expertise and assistance in developing an effective search strategy.
