Yes, our content providers, such as Elsevier, Wiley, SpringerNature, Taylor and Francis, etc, provide comprehensive screen reader accessibility across their core publishing platforms.
Their systems are aligned with global digital laws (such as the European Accessibility Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act) and comply heavily with WCAG 2.2 Level AA guidelines. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Their websites and text files are continuously tested to work seamlessly with the most common screen readers, including JAWS, NVDA, and Apple’s VoiceOver.
With the exception of a few smaller publishers who are still in process on meeting WCAG 2.2 level requirements, we have VPATS from the majority of our content providers.
If accessibility is ever a problem with a particular article, ebook chapter, etc, the Library will, of course, contact the vendor for resolution.
